Im Süden Namibias, weit entfernt vom Komfort der Luxus Lodges: endlose Wüste, Staub, Gestrüpp. Seit mehr als hundert Jahren überlebt eine Gemeinschaft hier in Hitze und Wind. Sie sind abgehauen, wurden von der deutschen Schutztruppe und der Südafrikanischen Armee zurück gelassen, heute ist ihr Fortbestand ungewiss. In „Suedwestwind“ begegnen wir ihnen in der Wüste und beobachten Momente von leiser Komik, Tragik und existenzieller Stille.

The south of Namibia, far from the comfort zone of safari lodges: an endless desert, dust, dry weed. For more than a hundred years a strange community resists the heat and the wind. They are outsiders, brought there by the colonialists from Germany and South Africa, nowadays they are close to extinction. In „Suedwestwind“ we observe them socializing, cuddling, fighting, sleeping. Moments of silent comedy, and existencial silence.
